x-pole
-
The X-Pole solution allows to work simultaneously with total station and GNSS using the best features of each system with maximum flexibility.
-
The TPS can be oriented directly using the GNSS position acquired simultaneously with the measurement of the prism. It is not necessary to measure points with GNSS first and then measure the same points again with TPS. The operation can be performed at the same time with greater speed and accuracy.
-
A single press on the icon changes the measurement mode and switches from GNSS to TPS mode and vice versa. The change of system is hardly noticeable, since only the panel changes to the current instrument.
-
The GNSS system positioned above the prism allows a direct rotation on the prism direction speeding lock operations of the prism after loss. With GNSS initialised, the TPS rotates to the exact position of the prism and locks is immediately without any search. With a GNSS position not initialised, the TPS rotates to the approximate position and starts the search for the prism in the surrounding area. In both cases, the locking speed of the prism is greater than the traditional search.

This chapter covers the following topics:
-
Station setup with X-Pole: learn how to setup the robotic total station when working with X-Pole, using coordinates from the GNSS receiver.
-
GNSS site calibration with X-Pole: learn how to create a GNSS site calibration when working with X-Pole, using common points measured with GNSS receiver and total station.
-
Using the X-Pole setup in the field: learn how to work with X-Pole in survey and stakeout.
